Dave from City Best Renos is amazing. I can’t say enough good things about him and his employees. In Toronto on the GTA there are a lot of shady contractors out there. Dave is incredible, he bailed me out when a previous Contractor took advantage of me.
I can’t say enough good things. If you get the opportunity to work with him or have him work on your project, jump on the opportunity. His prices are fair, his guys are professional and standby their work. I’m so grateful I found Dave to finish up a job that my previous contractor vanished on me without finishing. If City Best Renos quote you for a job, just book them. Don’t waste your time, dealing with other potential scams and headaches.

We had Dave and his crew do a Kitchen renovation. Right from the start Dave's enthusiasm and vision was apparent from the beginning and carried right through to the finishing touches. He had great ideas from his experience and he was happy to share them. He was professional, communicative and made our dream Kitchen a reality! We hired Dave to remodel our bathroom. Dave went far beyond our expectations. It's my new favourite room in the house. Our original bathroom was from the 50's or 60's and was small and very used. CB Renos gutted the bathroom to the studs and the joists.
We found some problems that needed to be repaired before continuing with the remodel. Dave knew exactly what to do.
He was very transparent and called me every day with an update on the renovation. His labourers, Sadastiva and Arnold, were knowledgable and hard working. CB Renos is miles above any other contractor I've worked with.

I had recently bought a condo in downtown Toronto that required some work to get it up to the standard and quality that I wanted. Dave came in and offered a competitive quote and brought in the right team. They took care of everything from start to finish, and I didn't have to worry about anything. The work was completed on time (tight timeframe) and to a very high quality. I am very happy with the final product (as is everyone who comes and visits). Would highly recommend Dave and his team to anyone.

I had a variety of things that needed to be addressed in my home that needed different trades to be addressed. Individual trades were not calling me back and it was frustrating. Then I grouped all the things together and Dave Petrie came to the rescue. The flashiest bit was the refurbished shower which is now gorgeous and functional. Other items included a new window, some new carpeting, insulation, upgraded smoke alarms. It all got done for the price I agreed to in advance. I'm relieved and grateful.

We had David and his team renovate our third floor. It is an old house, and they stripped the plaster and lathe and knob and tube down to the studs. New insulation, new wiring, new windows, drywall, painting, trim and alterations to closets with new doors. The quote was reasonable, and was adhered to. The work was well done, the team was pleasant, competent and hard-working and cleaned up after the work. David was responsive to questions/concerns throughout the work and we are very pleased with the outcome. The job took longer than I had hoped, but that is renovation...

We have been clients of Dave Petrie for three major projects and will continue to work with him and his team for any and all home renovations we do in the future. With his ability to envision beautiful and livable spaces, Dave designed and constructed the most beautiful outdoor area for our family to enjoy for many years.
He also created a fantastic spa like bathroom which turned out more beautiful than we previously imagined. Both he and his team are consumate professionals and treated our home with the utmost respect. He ensured our home was tidied at the conclusion of each day to minimize the impact of our renovations on our personal life.
Dave explained each and every step of the process making sure we were happy with the work already completed and what was to be accomplished in the coming days. Any suggestions or questions we had were fully addressed and Dave was quick and responsive to phone calls and text messages. He is the man to call if you love your home and want to enjoy your space.
Before I forget, Dave also helped me create my dream farmhouse-style mud room! Thank you, Dave! See you for our next project!

Work was completed beautifully and thoughtfully. David is very detail oriented and highly skilled, and completely trustworthy and honest. He attended to the projects until he and we were satisfied with its quality and aesthetic. We have worked with various contractors for many projects, and David is by far the best. David is now our "go-to" contractor for matters big and small and we will definitely continue to use him.

We worked with David Petrie for remodeling our Condo Kitchen. It was an absolute pleasure working with David from the design, planning phase to the completion phase. We were inexperienced in terms of home renovations and therefore anxious prior to engaging David. David put us at ease at the every first time meeting, with his sincerity and honest approach. David is a patient individual, who is detail oriented and someone who takes pride in every aspect of the job. It is hard not to like David as a person and he is a true professional. As part of the initial engagement process, David provided a cost and time estimate which helped us to get comfortable with the project before it even began. David engaged the services of a kitchen designer who spend time with us going over the details of the custom kitchen. David provided ideas on how to reduce cost and helped us prioritize the project to stay within our budget. I have to say that, David was practical and realistic in prioritizing our goals. David also worked closely with our Condo requirements that were needed as part of the renovation project, he did not take any shortcuts. He also worked with the elevator schedule of my Condo in order to complete the dally work schedule. David always made sure to call us in the evening to ensure that the day's work went well and was incident free, which we appreciated a lot. He managed to reduce the stress involved with renovation with his positive attitude and execution of the work plan. I highly recommend David based on our experience.

After having my basement underpinned last year, I needed to have my living space put back. The old basement was dark, damp, uninviting and mostly used for storage and laundry. I had no great expectations except that it be clean and dry and mostly level.
I met with David a few times after meeting with several other companies. I had seen him and his work in my neighbourhood and could see the quality. I liked that he listened to my ideas and consulted me every step of the way. He was always available and kept me in the loop about what was happening each stage of the construction. The guys were all careful and kept things as clean as possible. They showed up when they said they would and did a great job.
The new basement has far exceeded my expectations. The space seems
to flow better, it is bright and the space is inviting. I am very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend this company.

We worked with Dave and his team remodel our two bathrooms. Our home is "quirky" to put it nicely. We wanted someone with experience dealing with atypical homes, especially in our area in the eastend of Toronto. We could not have asked for a better team than CB Renos.
Estimates
Within the first few days we had an estimate for the total cost and timeline. Cynically, I remember thinking to myself there was no way Dave could stick to both. But sure enough, the work got done in exactly the time estimated (+1 day due to a power outage) and exactly on budget (+ some additional cost we added during the project).
Cost
The cost was fair overall. We shopped around for many estimates before deciding to go with CB Renos. There are obviously people out there who will do the work for cheaper, and some that will charge way more. With the experience and oversight Dave brought to this project, I feel the cost was more than fair.
Communication
Dave maintained regular communication the entire time. He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to everything home building/reno related. Discussing the details with him over the weeks has been a huge education for us.
Overall
The end result is stunning! Not only do the new bathrooms look beautiful, everything that went into it was chosen to be long-lasting. We will absolutely work with CB Renos again.
